This stunning model Waka Taua Maori War Canoe is a beautiful artwork that could grace your home or office. A fabulous leaving gift for a special colleague or for that business partner abroad, and a wonderful birthday gift or trophy.

Waka taua are impressive looking pre-European war canoes, still carved in New Zealand, and still taken out on the water for special occasions, like Waitangi Day.

The prow (ihu), stern-post (taurapa) and side panels of traditional waka taua were beautifully carved and featured designs and styles particular to each tribe.

This Maori war canoe is also beautifully carved, and inlaid with New Zealand Paua shell. It measures approximately 100cm (39') long, and stands approximately 44.5cm tall at its tallest point. It comes with 6 replica hoe (paddles), and is proudly carved in Rotorua, New Zealand.

The stern post and stand are removable, to make shipping easier and safer.

A waka taua makes a wonderful souvenir of a holiday in New Zealand and an excellent presentation piece. Fabulous trophy too!

ENGRAVING: We are happy to get the base engraved for you as an optional extra, so you can mark the occasion. Choose either a gold engraved plaque or have the words engraved into the wood, or paua engraved.

Steps:
a) Choose up to 8 words (gold plaque) or up to 5 words (engraved into wood) or 18 characters if you want paua engraving. Paua engraving must be done in CAPITALS.
b) Select the Engraved option in the Option box below.
